The Texas Republican Party platform is a comprehensive summary of the issues positions that Tim champions.
The Democrat Party has embraced the failed ideology of the extreme Left and no longer represents the values that we have always held sacred here in Texas. The Democrat incumbent, career politician John Bryant is a creature of the Washington, District of Criminals. It is time for him to gracefully retire on his government pension and it is “Time for Tim!” to restore the voice of the residents of our district, HD114, to the Texas House of Representatives.
As an economist and professor at SMU, it is natural that my highest priority is the economic wellbeing of all Texans. This begins with the abolition of eternal property taxes, a tyranny on all households. Property taxes inhibit economic growth, depress the creation of new jobs, and the financial security for all Texans. At the same time, we must also end the reckless accumulation of public debt by interrupting the municipal and school district bond Ponzi scams.
We need deep reform of the criminal bail system. Currently, activist judges use their discretion to release alleged murder suspects back into our neighborhoods with little or no bail, while minor offenders remain jailed simply because they are poor. We need stronger statutes to establish fairer, more consistent standards that protect communities and end this injustice.
I support the deployment of the Texas National Guard and the expansion of the role and military capability of the Texas State Guard to defend our international border. It is time to send the clear message to the drug and human trafficking cartels that their activities in Texas shall from now on be treated as a military matter and no longer a mere civilian law enforcement affair.
If the cartels want to brush up on the legal framework for this change, they need to learn more about the Geneva Conventions rather than the Texas criminal code.
Political violence that is inspired by the hyperbolic and inflammatory rhetoric from the left is on the rise. We will show the monsters who have celebrated these acts that our ballots are far more powerful than their bullets.
We must strengthen Texas statutes to prevent foreign laws or religious canons from creeping into our common law. They must never be recognized by our civil and criminal courts as precedents. The Texas Constitution Article I., Sec. 2 states it clearly: “All political power is inherent in the people, and all free governments are founded on their authority, and instituted for their benefit.” The People of Texas will forever determine what the law of the land shall be, not any foreign political or religious ideology.
Government should never use gambling to fund its treasury. Lotteries are a tax on the poor that sell false hope.
The tyranny of the Covid lockdown must never be permitted to happen again. We must restore the sacred relationship between the people and their physicians. The clinical practice of medicine has been nearly destroyed by institutional dictates of “standard of care”. For this reason I support the creation of the office of Texas Surgeon General, to be appointed by the Governor with advice and consent of the Texas Senate. The Texas Surgeon General shall be the champion of the People to defend their fundamental human rights now routinely violated by government agencies, hospitals, pharmaceutical monopolies, insurance companies and medical boards manned by non-physicians.
Hate speech does not exist. There is only hated speech. The same goes for hate crimes. This mind virus and all such Orwellian thought crime notions must be purged from the Texas statutes and regulatory codes.
Our citizens who are struggling to secure their basic needs should expect from government a hand up, not a hand out. The Texas social services agencies must have their charters reset to reflect this fundamental change in public choice policy. The government must no longer disincentivise the formation and maintenance of the nuclear family, a social structure that is at the foundation of human wellbeing for all of history.
Texas is on the right path when it comes to the issue of the termination of human life before birth. The current statutory framework is a good foundation for the present public choice. The Supreme Court of the United States has made the right decision to defer to the states in this matter and Texas has made its decision, a decision that Tim defends.
